SNITCH ALERT!!! Worlds Deadliest Herbivore.

SNITCH ALERT: Known informant Zach Jenson has been spotted in Olympia, at a bar next door to a benefit for the grand jury resisters. Jenson helped put away his one time friend Eric McDavid, and cooperated in full with federal investigators and US Attorneys. It appears that he is trying to re-enter the movement and may possibly still be gathering information for the feds. While our friends sit in prison for refusing to speak to our enemies, while his former comrade is losing decades of his life to a federal gulag in part because of Zach’s actions, we must make sure that it is known that SNITCHES ARE NOT WELCOME IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST.

ADDENDUM: Inevitably whenever a post is made about an informant the tough guy talk starts and people who likely have never even been in a fight before start talking about “snitches get stitches.” While Zach Jenson should certainly be verbally confronted and asked to leave activist spaces and other areas, physical violence against him would be harmful to both Eric McDavid and potentially his attackers as well.
1.) Eric’s legal proceedings are not finished. What this means is that any physical assault or intimidation of Zach Jenson, a witness in Eric’s case, could reflect poorly on Eric and prejudice a judge against him. Remember- your actions could keep someone in prison longer!
2.) Assaulting Jenson would not just result in a minor charge. INTIMIDATING A FEDERAL WITNESS IS A SERIOUS FELONY and people have spent upwards of 10 years in prison for it. I know that none of you intend to harm him anyway- if you did you wouldn’t be posting about it on the internet. Even so, people should be aware that there could be serious consequences, both for our imprisoned comrade and others. Any posting already threatening Jenson or implying that he should be physically harmed should be removed immediately.
My personal feeling is that if Jenson is spotted he should be immediately confronted and asked to leave any space he is inhabiting. A polite plea should be made and if he does not comply his picture should be taken and warnings posted online about where he has been sighted. Under no circumstance should anyone touch his person, threaten him, or attempt to intimidate him. Please, show solidarity with our comrades in prison right now and keep yourselves safe as well.

HNJ released

Everybody who had been arrested from HNJ action on October 10th has been released last night.

The NLG has requested that anybody who was injured to call them. If you have any documentation form a doctor or any photos, that would be a strong plus.

URGENT UPDATE: Gender Anarky Members Resume Hunger Strike Indefinitely After Prison Officials’ Broken Promises

12 Friday Oct 2012

Gender Anarky members Amazon and Catarina LePre restarted their hunger strike on October 5th after promised changes to trans women’s housing were not met by Warden Paramo and their case worker at the R. J. Donovan Correctional Facility.  Warden Paramo and Amazon’s case worker promised to change the housing conditions of trans women in the facility after a number of days of hunger striking, but  has not implemented any changes.  In response, they have chosen to strike indefinitely until the changes have been implemented.  In a recent communication from Amazon, she describes the situation:

this time we are striking indefinitely, until this matter is resolved and i am no longer on single-cell status and cat and i are celled up.  today [October 7th] is our third day without food, and we are only drinking two bottles of water a day.  after food, we are going to stop drinking any water.  they are monitoring our health daily, taking our vitals.  so far we have lost ten pounds each, as of today.  cat gets a lil woozy, but we are going thru with this…

…inform [prison officials] of our hunger strike, that it is for transgender housing, that my case worker is preventing me from celling up with cat, that initially the warden instructed her to do it, but she has been avoiding it because she is a feminist hater of trans inmates.  this is the only reason she is discriminating against us… she has lied to us, giving us different reasons for delays that conflict.  we know whats up.  this is straight up discrimination… they don’t want to give us our transgender housing, where two girls can live together, while letting any two men live together who ask to.  and now they are also retaliating because of our hunger strike, trying to punish us by ignoring us now and our hunger strike for protesting in the first place.  so get at them like you need to…

this is a mental health prison, with special structured programs designed for inmates with long-term mental health therapy, and this problem with us is also aggravating our mental health status, making us decompensate, get depressed, suicidal, want to cut.  this is our last resort next to doing something desperate…”

Amazon and Cat’s situation has never been more urgent.  Continue to call Warden Paramo and act in solidarity with our comrades risking their lives to survive in a hellish institution of domination.

Call Warden Paramo the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility: (619) 661-6500

Demand that Eva Contreraz (C-45857)and Catarina LaPre (K-67313) be take off single-cell status and be allowed to share a cell.  Demand that an end to the discriminatory housing policy against trans women in the correctional facility.  Continue to call every day until you receive word that their demands have been met.  The calling system may be confusing, but when in doubt dial 0 for the operator.

Attack!:

Gender Anarky has uncompromisingly attacked transphobic violence within the prison system, and have consistently called for directly attacking the systems of domination that the make living conditions of trans women, both inside and outside prison, a living hell.  Attack the institutions that maintain the miserable system of gender in solidarity with Gender Anarky and the continuing hunger strike.

Write to Amazon and Cat:

Let them know you support their struggle against the the prison administration.  They can be reached at:

Advisory on the HNJ 10/10 action

It is strongly advised that if you were at the 10/10 action that you do not say that you or anybody that you know that was there to say mum. The NLG is concerned that because of the felony conspiracy charges, other people might end up getting swept up and get those charges as well.

Schedule now set for O5 Anti-Columbus Day Arresstiess

20 comrades were arrested this Saturday during an Anti-Columbus day march in San Francisco. 10 are still in custody.

Hearings have been set as follows:
Thursday October 11th at 9am: 9 people
Thursday October 11th at 1:30pm: 1 person

Friday October 12th at 9am: 1 person
Friday October 12th at 1:30pm: 11 people

Pack the courts in solidarity IF YOU WERE NOT AT ANY OF LAST WEEKEND’S ACTIONS!

The best way to support folks facing criminal charges is to be safe and smart. If you were at the demonstrations the weekend of Oct 5-7 in the Bay Area, please do not attend court. Everyone arrested last Saturday is currently facing conspiracy charges and SFPD is casting a wide net. You can support them instead by helping to raise bail money. Please do not inadvertently incriminate yourself or your friends by speaking about what happened, especially on the internet, over the phone or in public places.

Lauren and Robbie’s Bail Fund

Information

Our close friends and comrades Lauren and Robbie were beaten badly by the SFPD this weekend during a march in San Francisco’s Financial District.

After suffering these beatings, both Lauren and Robbie were arrested on conspiracy, riot, refusing to obey a lawful order of a peace officer; resisting, delaying, or obstructing an officer. Combined, Lauren and Robbie were held on roughly $87,000 bail. Today, Lauren and Robbie borrowed $3,000 for the down payment from family and friends. Currently, they have to pay $1600 ASAP and then the rest soon plus monthly payments. Please help us raise money so Lauren and Robbie can make their monthly payments.
